A distinctive washed Maragogipe from the highlands of Amazonas, Peru. A natural mutation of Typica, Maragogipe is renowned for its unusually large beans and elegant cup profile, offering remarkable sweetness and complexity when grown at high elevations.
The cup opens with notes of raspberry and red grape, complemented by toasted almond and brown sugar sweetness. Bright yet balanced, it delivers a silky texture, refined acidity, and a clean, lingering finish.
Germán Carranza cultivates coffee at El Bebedero, his family farm in the village of Gracias a Dios. Situated on the edge of the Amazon rainforest, the farm benefits from high elevation, abundant biodiversity, and a unique microclimate that supports the production of exceptional specialty coffee. Working alongside his family, Germán has become recognized for his dedication to quality and his exploration of distinctive coffee varieties.
We especially enjoy this coffee as a filter brew, where its clarity, sweetness, and delicate fruit character are most expressive. It also produces a vibrant and nuanced espresso, highlighting its layered sweetness and elegant structure.
